Dissapointed with Panasonic
THe fact is the dvx100 is a great camera, and I agree with the earlier posts: ya shouldn't be doing autofocusing anyway, the mic oughta be off the camera (learned the hard way) ...
That's a fact. It's the only camcorder lens I have used that allows me to smoothly rack focus from subject A to subject B without passing subject B. It's a beautiful thing! ;D

Don't be so upset about the 100. I bought mine even after the 100A came out. I just decided that shelling out the extra $500 was not worth it. Don't get me wrong. I'd love to have the 100A, but I'd rather spend the $500 on other things like accessories and a new Apple G5, which I did purchase.

By the way, I just saw Nancy Schreiber's work on November and it is definitely one of the best DV films I've seen. And she used the 100 when it first came out, without all the toys that have now been developed for it.

Filmmaking is about the artist and not the tools. A true artist can produce better work with a Hi-8 cam than any amateur can on a 35mm Panavision. The only difference is one is working with water color and the other with oil.

I was going to go off...but...you're lucky to have a dvx100 or dvx100a...
I'm about to go to the hospital, i barely eat in order to get my dvx100...selling everything I own practically...
I know you or noone cares about who I am, or how hard I try, but i'm still going to say it. Its St Patrick Day, I'm drunk.

Everytime I see a new post I think of poor Decius and the uproar he has caused. Decius! We love you man!
