display setting question?

sorry i didnt really know what to name this topic and sorry if its a bit pointless but its been bothering me. ok so when i turn my d90 off, the top display still shows the image size, i was wondering how i could turn that display off if its even possible. thanks

That number is images left on the card, if you really, really, really want that gone, remove the battery.

It uses so little battery power that I would not worry about it. It's just a few old school pixels; hardly any power at all. It's probably less energy than a wrist watch would take.

BTW, I've been pleasantly surprised by the D90's battery life.
