Disney to buy Marvel!?

Everyone's concerned that anything associated with Disney will be PG rated stuff? Disney's other brand name is Touchstone, and they've released R-rated movies.

Disney never told Tarantino to use less blood & guts in his movies or Harvey W. how to run his business and they won't tell Marvel what to do either. Disney owns Miramax for those of you who didn't know.

Lot's of inaccurate reporting going on, Disney now owns 7,000 Marvel characters not the reported 5,000 in this article. I'm sure it'll take a week or two for them to realize thier mistake if ever.
Articles were rushed out that day. Many of them went with the 5000 ballpark figure.

Hell, this was updated today and they still just say more than 5000. Why not 6 or 7K?

Everyone in the industry is happy except Redstone & Grey. They now have some serious problems.

There go my hopes for The Avengers

The Avengers/Iron Man III didn't really have much of a pitch or treatment because it's so cutting edge, never been done before stuff that words can't describe, just wait. The Avengers/Iron MAN III is going to be one sweet movie!

I have VERY high hopes for the Avengers/Iron Man III, whatever you want to call it.

I would think that if a storyline can't be described in a pitch or treatment, then it's got problems . . .

I would also think if it's indeed so cutting edge that it can't be, it'll be under a pretty serious NDA.

No problems if your Paramount or Marvel but yea it is hard to understand, how do you describe stuff that has never been done or seen FX wise at this level?

NDA's out the ass.

I don't have one so I can say the next 5 Marvel /Paramount films will have more Marvel characters merge into the movie so instead of a movie about a single comic book character like the Hulk different comic books merge wth other comic books, really fun stuff! That's the easy part to explain.

Edit: Then Disney takes over

Honestly I suspect The Avengers to be one of the THE MOST EXPENSIVE movies ever made. You have far more characters than every before, far more stars than every before (real stars not just name folks...), and marketing up the wazooo...

I can't even imagine the proposed budget.

I wonder how/if it will affect the comics. Spidey has been revamped to fans dismay; I wonder if that is a sign of things to come.

Will the marvel max line aimed at 'mature readers' be discontinued?

Stay tuned true believers.
