Disney Channels - How shows are filmed.

I don't know how many of you watch Disney Channel.

But It's on here all the time for my partner & kid, as well as Disney 'XD', '+1', and what other crap they excrete. I know these show's have limited funds to create a show, but do they have to have limited creativity to?

Wizards of Waverly Place, Hannah Montana, So Random

All these programs have the same angles, boring storylines, mostly poor acting (Unless your selena gomez or an adult on the show) I know It's created for kids, but there's adults who are forced to watch It to. It really get's to me.

On another note, why the hell have they re-made the classic Thomas the Tank Into CGI piss monsters.

I'm with you! Can't stand them, but I suppose that at least they create employment....
My sister is hokked to all that crap (she's 18) and sometimes I have to listen through a whole chapter because the tv is in the same room as the computer.....oh man that's when the headphones come in handy.

I think back and think how simple "Power Rangers" were and how silly fun it was to watch with my son.

One thing Steven Spielberg was quoted in saying is that there is not enough programming for families to watch shows together. You have violence, death,
murder, dead mutilated bodies on prime channels so you have to go to Disney and Nickelodeon just so you can sit down with your kid and somebody doesn't get
kidnapped or killed.

I'm all for bringing the shows of the 70s back, good clean action, no blood, stilly fun.

j - go, go power rangers! When the team showed up in Dallas there were 10,000 fans that crammed the streets. We need more good clean fun like that for our kids.

I notice a direct correlation to the amount of Disney channel my daughter watches, to how bratty and obnoxious she behaves. That channel is locked on my cable box. I only let her watch it as a treat, and in limited doses.

My partner's child is obsessed with it, we aren't able to change channels or anything. She's also quite bitchy/bratty. How old is your daughter?

She's six years old. The difference really is quite obvious. The cartoon networks are usually okay. It's those tween sitcoms (Hannah Montana, Suite Life, Wizards) that really do the damage.

Jeez. When I was 6 I was watching Law & Order :-/

But yes. Disney Channel is a load of steaming crap. I miss the kids shows in Mexico. Now that was some quality programming.

I don't let my girls watch the Disney Channel at all. I can't stand it, neither can my wife. Instead we bought Tom and Jerry DVD box set and they love it. I think they watched the whole thing over 20 times. I'm amazed how they never get tired of it. Aside from Tom and Jerry, we buy UP and WALL-E and things like that.

A really great project to do with your kids is to let them write a script for a TV show and then film it. They know daddy makes films for a living so they really get a kick of writing and filming their own show. I get to practice lighting, blocking, editing, etc. I also get to spend some really good quality time with the kids so that's an added bonus.

Watching them laugh when we watch the final product - priceless. I have to say, a lot of their ideas are really original and actually funny. They're better storytellers than most of the guys in Hollywood.

I've found that - the younger ones are more creative than, well me! I think It's natural with all kids though. Waiting for my daughter to grow up & be able to talk before questioning her for original storylines! Why can't these things be moved along quicker..

Isn't she good? I was flipping through the channels last summer and came across "Wizards of Waverly Place" and was absolutely blown away by how someone so young could be so good. She has such natural comedic timing. And, considering what crap she has to work with...

My gf walked in the room and wondered why I was watching that show and I was like, "'I can't shut if off. This girl is REALLY talented whoever she is..." She'll go very far.

Yeah man, I was deeply Impressed. She's so human & natural, flow's well with her characters.

Plus she's got the looks to go with It!
