Discharing batteries

Hi,

Panasonic recomends discharging batts before storage. I charged to many for my last shoot and wont be using the camera for at least a month or 2. Is there a better way to discharge them then just putting them int he camera with it on. I don't want to put ware on the lcd screen/recording mechanisms. Is there away to make the camera use a ton of power without recording/using zoom so it kills the batts faster?
Thanks

There is a small benefit in storing the batteries in discharged state, but only if you need to store them long term, like years. I would not worry about storing them for a few months. I am not aware of readily available battery dischargers.

My next shoot is probably not until march...so In your opinion would it be worth the ware on the cams to discharge the batts or is that a short enough time.
