I'd replace the onboard mic with his head on a spike... just in case anyone else gets any ideas to throw something at my camera again.

It's just the onboard mic that appears damaged, and hopefully you aren't using that for sound anyways.

That sucks! But it's not a complete disaster. As long as the lens is alright and it still records you can get a shotgun mic and be good to go.

Thankfully i discovered that the mic still works, and its just the rubber bracket that popped out. But i like the head on a spike idea... Heh unfortunately i do use the onboard mic for audio most of the time, as i don't have a mic yet, and don't always have money to rent one for every shoot

I think all the DVXs have a weakspot there. It seems like a pretty flimsy connection. I would try a little superglue to keep it looking good for your clients and find a cheap shotgun in the meantime.
