Disassembly of LCD viewfinder tube

Does anyone know what happens when the two tiny screws are removed from the hinge between the frame and the tube of the LCD viewfinder?

I don't see how the tube separates from the frame after removing the screws, the hinge looks a little strange and it obviously has an important detent in the design.

I want to use the frame part to make a DIY hood over the LCD.

I did exactly this a while back
Take those two tiny screws out out of the hinges and the Tube/Eyepiece will disconnect from the Hood
you can then use the Hood for the small LCD on the camera without the Tube and Eyepiece

I did that with mine, but the inner glass popped out on me, cheaply made in my opinion.

Anyone know if there are any companies working on making a fs100 loupe? I'd get one in a second.

if you are hand held it makes the rig less front heavy

the leverage on the joint is reduced and less likely to slip

takes less space in the bag

to name a few

Hi Mico, which loupe are you using with the viewfinder portion?

Thanks

Hoodloupe with hoodman camcorder mounting strap with hoodman hoodriser HR305.

You will have to do a very quick mod on the strap and the riser. It will be obvious what you need to do.
