There was a thread in the Panasonic GH Cameras - GH Hardware, Lenses etc., dealing with a budget speedbooster from Fotodiox. It was about 2-3 pages long, and I contributed to the thread, saying that I just bought that booster, and was going to post my review in that thread, as there was a lot of interest in this kind of hardware. This was just yesterday. Today, I go there, and the thread has disappeared - like, completely. This is frankly appalling. I can understand if the thread is contentious, go ahead and lock it. But to completely disappear it in an Orwellian fashion as if it never even existed, well, that takes the heart out of anyone who wants to contribute content to this site. The whole purpose of this site is to provide a safe place for people to be able to honestly review gear and share experiences, and when a thread to which you contributed and are actively monitoring, simply disappears with no notice, it really makes one feel as if there is no point in the whole thing. Why write anything if it's just going to disappear at any moment, with no notice, with no warning, with no trace of any kind.
I am completely disheartened and disappointed by this action. I guess I won't be reviewing this equipment, and wonder what the point is in any further contributions. This was a very, very bad move indeed. Lock threads, moderate, but don't pull this kind of disappearing stunt, it really puts into question the integrity of the site.
