disadvantages of the 50p/60P mode

Hi,
im about to shoot a commercial and wanted to know
some facts about the 50p/60P mode.
- i assume u get reduced resolution compared to 24/25p, (although it says 1080p.)?
- reduced dynamic range?
- anything else?

and another question... what is the af100`s native iso?
i would like to shoot always at the native iso to get the best dynamic range.

thanks!

Native ISO is 400 and if you do shoot in overcrank mode you get full resolution and quality in 1080 24/25/30p. That is it's all in slowmotion. To get real 50p/60p frames you have to shoot in 720p. Dynamic range stays the same.

Well, not necessarily. It doesn't really turn out that way. You get pretty much the same dynamic range at just about any ISO. As far as noise, there's not a whole lot of difference between 200 to 800. It gets more noticeable at 1600+, but even then, it's not bad, it's just ... different. Bigger texture.

Don't stress the ISO -- use whatever you feel like, and use the lowest you can get away with, there's not really any downside to using lower. 400 is the basepoint they rate it at; if you put it in videocam mode, you'll find that at 0dB it's 400 ISO.
