GH4 disabling the exposure wheel in video mode

Is there a way (other than gaff tape) to disable the exposure wheel in video mode?
My thumb constantly hits it and I inadvertently change exposure

Thanks

AFAIK, you can't disable the rear wheel totally , though you can move exp. comp to be accessed only by the top +/- button > wheel, which is the very inconvenient default, with EC set to "off" in the dial-set menu (custom tool menu, pg 9), rather than the very convenient direct top or rear dial access with the "on" setting, giving the two wheels different functions.

Inadvertent rear wheel turning will then change S & A values, though, but in opposite directions to keep a neutral exposure, which might be fine for stills, but not for video work.

Instead of taping over the wheel, you might try fashioning a tape flap with the wheel-covering part folded back on itself so as not to stick, but with the original exp. comp. function - which I use constantly - available underneath.

As an aside, my biggest GH4 problem was inadvertent pressing of the outer quadrant of the 4-way dial and shifting the AF box to far right side. This cured by setting the Fn-4 button under the dial to "cursor button lock", which toggles it.

I've never found that top +/- button on my gh4 to do anything at all when i'm shooting video... i press it, nothing happens.

Is it because I'm shooting full manual? Just curious, as it seems like a waste of a button. ;)

Same with stills in Man. mode, as auto-iso isn't available to compensate. One day, maybe, in a FW update, hopefully??

One thing the +/- button is handy for if you're using direct wheel EC control is for flash exp. comp., but it takes some fiddling to get there. I'll give the method for this if anyone's interested...
