Dirt/particles in focus ring and zoom ring

I seem to have dirt particles in both the focus and zoom ring. It doesnst seem to be hindering use yet, but you can hear it and feel it. A few questions:
1) How much does it cost to have this repaired by Panasonic?
2) If I left it and kept filming, would it ruin the camera very quickly? (again, theres a bit it still moves smoothly). I hate asking this question but I dont have money to fix it right now and I have work to do.
3) Can I fix it myself? I saw a link on the forum for fixing a HVX, is there a link for dvx100a somwhere? Im fairly competent in those kind of things so its possible. What do you guys think, should I go for it?

I hope I can figure this out. If the camera breaks it would be very bad because I cant get a new camera right now and all my projects would stop. Question 2 is really on my mind. Can I just keep shooting or will it destroy the rings very quickly if I did that?

I hope to hear from somebody. thanks guys for all your help

you should be alright using it as it is, but if it's really bothering you then it aint that difficult to fix yourself;
Just unscrew the 2 tiny screws that attatch the lens shade thingy to the front of the lens, underneath here there are 4 more screws that you can undo, once thats done, the focus and zoom ring will slide right off the front of the lens and can be cleaned. however when doing this be very careful as the focus ring is still attatched to the inside of the camera by a thin cable which will easily break if treated roughly. putting it all back together is trickier, as you need to make sure zoom ring meets up with the linkage that attatches it to the zoom mechanism on the lens, but once you see how it works, if you are at all technicaly minded you shouldn't have a problem.
