Director... the nice guy?

A Director must have a vision, and must be able to communicate that vision to the entire cast and crew.

A Director must have the respect, loyalty and trust of the cast and crew, and this only comes from integrity and treating others with the same respect.

A Director must have a positive and upbeat attitude (or at least fake it) about the production, and even if things go wrong, must stay calm. (no one wants to work for a director who is always bitter, and unhappy).

A Director must be likable and have good communication skills outside the actual vision of the film he/she needs to explain.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs...then perhaps you have failed to appreciate the situation.

I think you've just gotten rid of 95% of the directors in Hollywood...

He's gotten rid of about 75% of the directors with whom I've worked, in television, and perhaps 60% of the ones with whom I've done features.
