Does anyone have any recommendations as to how to keep the laptop running, safe and healthy while shooting with the HVX and going direct into FCP on a mac book pro with external drive? what about with a dolly move?
I've been testing all weekend with it beside my tripod , and also some test with it in a bag while doing handheld and everything just kept working. there is the heat issue with the screen closed so I wouldn't record too long that way, but I love the work flow.
Make sure the "abort capture on dropped frames" box is NOT checked.
Generally, Macbooks run well with the lid closed (with the power supply
plugged in). Lifting the Mac about a centimeter off the surface seems
to make it run much cooler.
