Folks,

Is it possible to capture live from the DVX into Avid over firewire?
(Checked manual but I may be missing something)
 
It should be the same as capturing "on the fly" from tape. You will need to set a tape name first, then just for extra security, go to Film/24p settings and make sure ADANCED or NORMAL is selected for Cadence and click off the 00:00:00:00 is an "A" frame. And away you go!

I did this just a few days ago. You will need to put a tape into the camera, call it whatever you want, then capture. I unchecked the TC just in case having the tape not running was a problem.
 
Unchecking the TC track could lead to pulldown cadence errors since it needs that for NORMAL pulldown live capture.
