Dionic 90 problem on HPX300

I have 2 Dionic 90 batteries and when I don't use the HPX they are always on the charger (Bauer Dual 2722). So they are always fully charged. Today I put one of them on the HPX and after switching the cam on, a warning sound went off, red indicators flash and after a few seconds the cam switches off. When I put the other battery on the cam all is ok so there seems notthing wrong with the HPX. Does any one know what is happening ?

... is it good to keep them on the charger past a day or so if not being used? or is it better to put them back on a day before a shoot?

My first guess on your problem is the age of the battery. All the lights flashing and beeping is the normal low battery signal. It will start flashing first. start beeping and flashing next. shutdown last.
 
It was a charger problem, I have the dual 2722 charger and it often happens according to AB that one position stops working as is should. Got a brand new charger and both batteries charge fully again. Good service of AB :) Hope this charger will last longer.
 
hmmmm problem arose again with new chargers. The batteries are almost not used and were always "fully charged" on the charger. So I calibrated the battery again and now the battery charged again. Very strange system fom AB !!!
 
Do you have a light on your camera? I had a on-camera light using the AB power tap and the light somehow shorted out. It shut down my camera every time I tried to use it, and I kept blaming the batteries,
The only way to start up the camera again was to remove the battery and try again.
 
No I have no light on the camera. Everbody says that AB is the Rolce Roys of rechargable batteries/chargers but my experiences are different.

I have had a similar problem when powering up the camera from the Anton-Bauer AC charger. If I snap the battery on the back of the charger and retry, it usually is fine. Odd.
 
Check the settings inside the menu under battery options in the Camera. it is possible that the menu has the set for the camera to shut down at a certain voltage.
Just a option, if not the charger , if not the battery then the camera.
 
I have had similar problems. I had the charger mounted on the camera and the battery on the back of the charger. My camera would beep with the red light flashing and then shut down when I knew the battery was fully charged. Once I removed the charger and used just the battery it worked fine.

Now a new problem. As you said I keep the battery on the charger all the time as recommended in the documentation. If I remove it to store for a time I will run it down to half charge as also recommended, but recently a tree fell on my house and I had to put the whole thing in storage for a month - the longest I ever had it off the charger. It was not charged to full, and it died.

So it's back at A/B! Also had some problems with the charger last year which A/B fixed.
