I recently shot a one-minute film on the VariCam and was wondering if it was worth the space to capture it as Apple ProRes or uncompressed, rather than DVC Pro HD. My footage is currently DVC Pro HD- would I have significantly more information to work with for Color if i captured it again as Apple Pro Res? What do people usually capture footage from the VariCam as?

I have not worked with a varicam, but from what I understand about ProRes, it's for uncompressed or other large data-rate file types (150+ Mbps) It is used because FCP plays better with ProRes than those uncompressed formats– but FCP plays with DVCPROHD just fine, so there wasn't any reason to change it. I was at a conference last year and that's how it was explained to me... feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
