digital cinema stuff

Hi, I'm relatively new to the DVX world and this question may sound daft but here goes:

I'm considering shooting a full time feature film intended to (very limited) digital theatrical projection with my out-of-the-box DVX.
Does it make sense to start on it without anamorphic lens, ND filters, mattebox etc.?
I mean I'm out of money but already have a cast/crew of willing friends and a script I'm dying to shoot into a film.::)

Thanks.

Re: digital cinema stuff

why not? if you're out of cash, you don't have much else for an option. if the script's good, start shooting and use your footage to try and obtain financing. you can always reshoot the film when you have a bigger budget.

never let tools get in the way of the creative process; if you do, you'll never make anything.

Go for it! rember there will always be something more to buy for this camera it never ends. Just start to make your reel. One project at a time 8)

Re: digital cinema stuff

the standard dvx just took the cinematography award at sundance.. need i say more.

(they did have a nice mattebox for lense shade, and nd 's + other filters to shoot wide open alot, but really the standard dvx could make it happen)
