Digital Capture on Pinnacle?

I've captured my 1080 GH1 footage on Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 12.

I noticed in the "capture format" settings that it is set to DV, but only goes up to 720.

Does that mean that my 1080 footage was downgraded to 720?

In the help section it says that footage captured in DV is stored on the pc hard drive with no changes. So I am confused.

I used Pinnacle 6 or 7 way back when and threw it away in disgust. I don't know if it's better now but it gave me a load of headaches.

I recommend using a different NLE such as Premiere Pro.

Not sure about PU12 but PU14 has a full range of output formats available. For simple home video work, PU14 works just fine for me and my GH1 footage is shown as captured as 1080, H264, 29.97 fps. on the edit screen. You can specify what output format will be on the setup screen with a full range of options.

There's no need to go anywhere near a capture option with footage already captured on a memory card. Just import it straight into you project (from a copy dragged from the card into a folder of your choosing on your hard drive).
