Digital breakup from slight movements/New camera

I've recorded one tape so far with a brand new DVX100A from EVS Express Video.
Tape stock is AY-DVM63MQ
Looking back/capturing the tape contents I see digital breakup on any shot w/camera movement. Also a lot of TC breaks around these digital breakups.
Do I have a lemon or is this camera not all its cracked up to be?

Not for sure if this helps.. I have noticed some "breakup" betweem high contrast subjects with certain settings (f5/6 with shutter 1/24) Also I noticed if i start the camera and then select a camera scene file, followed by any tweaks and then change scene settings i may encounter issues.

basicallly i may encounter some imaging issues when i begin a series of scene settings without a power off - re cycle. its hard to explain.

this may help - try NOT to use 1/24 shutter and read the dvx 100Guide.pdf (http://www.temple.edu/fma/referencelibrary/manuals/FouldDVX100menu.pdf) on settings.. they recommend a 1/60 or off shutter speed.

I think this may be noticed when shooting progressive /

Switching between files with out a power down seems to give me odd results but I also use a fs4.

Try shooting a scene in a well light area using the default scene files please ensure that your nle supports 24P if that is what you are using(f5-f6).

The problem that MarcM is having is with something to do with inconstancies with the RF Envelope. If there is video and TC break-up then you may just have a head clog. Try running a head cleaner tape for 10 seconds and then make another recording. It could just have some manufacturing residue left on the heads. These cameras are great, so it's not just how the camera is. It's just a bug that we have to work out.
