Digibeta or HDCAM for film festivals ?

Sorry if that question has already been posted. I did a quick search but didn't find anything.

I'm wondering what to expect from 720p upscaled to 1080p.

In other words, if you captured 720p with a HD100 and needed to choose one delivery format for film festivals, which one would you pick ? Digibeta (downscale) or HDCAM (upscale)?

I know that's probably a dumb question but I'm curious about it.

At least at this year's festival, Sundance only projected digitally from HDCAM source.
There were lots of DV films and they were all projected from HDCAM. That said, I do suspect that in the future, HD DVD and Blu-Ray will be accepted formats too.

Upconversion is definitely the best way to got with your HD100 material. Try upconverting in Compressor to DVCproHD 1080. If converted properly, it should look about the same as what it would look like in HDCAM, and I'm sure you'll be happy with the results.

Hey Elton, thanks for the answer. I don't have any digital camera though ... but am considering buying one for some future projects ...

I am leaning towards the H1 for now but ... still have a lot of research to do.

Thanks.
