Diffusion in Vegas similar to Magic Bullet Looks?

Hi All,
I'm using Vegas 7.0d (old computer) and tried the 'Black Diffusion 5.0" preset in the copy of Magic Bullet Looks that came with my copy of Vegas.
Nice look, but takes 28 minutes for a 1 minute test render! Not practical for a 25 minute interview, to say the least. Client is an attractive woman that just needs a bit of help in post.

Does anyone have settings in the Vegas Video FX panel that would come close to the same look?

I've played with glow, etc., but just not getting there.
My original material is DV widescreen shot squeeze mode on a DVX100a. Output will be MP4 or WMV for the web, and a DVD for the client..

Any help greatly appreciated.

Ken

Effective diffusion can be achieved by doing this --

Duplicate the track. With the clip in the upper track, add brightness, maybe a lot. Then add guassian blur, again, probably more than medium. The lower the opacity so the clean image below shows through.

Experiment.

Wow! Thank you David.
With Brightness/Contrast, Gaussian Blur, AV6CC and levels FX added, the effect was every bit as good (and more tweakable) as Magic Bullet. AND: it rendered in less than half the time. I dropped the top track opacity to 34% and was able to maintain enough detail to prevent the effect from looking "mushy". I'm definitely saving these settings as a preset.

Thanks again.
Ken
