Diffusion frame

It's cool. Even with buying expensive clamps and things, the DIY outcome is a whole lot cheaper than buying a frame that is essentially the same thing as electrical conduit.

Avenger D200's . They should be fine with 1/2 round tube.
Yes, that's no doubt right but if you use the thinnest grade available the outer diameter of the tube isn't 1/2" it's just under 3/4" http://brassmein.com/tech/conduitdia.htm Home Depot sells EMT.

When you put something much bigger in a small grip head you need to put a wedge on the opposite side as a shim so you don't put too much bending force on the shaft.

Tube is measured in OD. Pipe and conduit measurements are in ID. Have to watch the semantics.

Actually pipe (and I believe conduit as well) is not measured by the ID or the OD. The pipe sizes are just what the industry decided to call them and don't really correspond to either measurement.

To some degree. Pipe and conduit measurements are usually a close but not exact measurement of the ID.

In certain sizes and schedules the ID might be somewhat close to the NPS, but that's not always the case since the ID of pipe correlates to schedule of the pipe. Different schedules of the same pipe size will have different ID's. The NPS terms don't relate to either the ID or OD, just like lumber sizes. You buy a 2x4, but you're really getting a 1.5"x3.5" piece of wood.

But this is getting off track.
