Hello dcragoe,
The first model released was the AG-DVX100P and the AG-DVX100E, "E" Means that it's the PAL version. The 100P couldn't do auto-iris, auto-focus, anything over 0db gain in 24p mode just to name a few. It had limited gamma settings and some bugs. The 100AP fixed all of that and Panasonic even through in some more gamma's to use and the newest firmware revisions. The 100BP is coming out soon. They updated the MIC, Updated the DSP's, made a VERY cool feature available with the firewire port, you can now SYNC TC with a standard firewire cable. Also when you have letter boxing on the screen it moves you OSD data to the black bars so that your video isn't interupted. Moved the speaker so that you can hear it a little better, it's now black instead of the silver/charcoal color. It's a very cool upgrade if you don't want to step up to the HVX200. We will announce when we are taking pre-orders. We will look forward to hearring from you!
