Different Colors for Text

Hi guys, I know this is an amateur question, but if I create text in my timeline, can I change the fonts and colors within the same text, or would I have to create a second layer and make that one the different style? It isn't a huge pain, but if I have to keyframe and what not, it's just one less step when it comes to pasting attributes and what not...

The only way you can have two different fonts/colors within one text layer is in a multi-part instance such as the lower 3rd text, which has two lines that are independently controlled. Other than that, no.

If you need more complex text effects, it's better to go into Motion.

Wow! I never knew Boris Text existed in Final Cut! I have been using different versions of Final Cut for five years now, and I have only used regular text or LiveType, Motion, etc...
