Dear All,
Q1; beside the firewire in/out, any info. about the different 100 and 101, reason is we would like to buy 2 of them, in-terms of costing there will be about US$250x2 = 500.
Q2; What is the ETA of Firestore DR-HD100 and $Costs?

What country are you in? The 100 in some countries (like the US) has firewire I/O and so there is no 101 model. I believe that all hd100 have at least firewire out.
Remember that only the 101 (in the appropriate countries) can review the footage from a firestore. With a Hd100 you can record but not review it through the camera.
MMM
Tks for the info., We are in HK(PAL)land, In HK there was two model available, 100E & 101E, e is stand for Pal (I Guess), funny that the demo model(101E) we had can switch between PAL,NTSC & 24P in 720HD mode... anyway we plan to go tapeness (Firestore/DR-HD100) so I guess 101e will be the perfect choice.
Finally, shall we wait for the DR-HD100. instead of the FireStore FS-4....

Hi Daryl - We have the DR-HD100 on order - hope to get it soon... We are keen to record tapeless but have decided not to go for the Firestore FS-4. The DR-HD1OO has been designed for the JVC Camera and does (according to the JVC website) come with features that the FS-4 does not have. I know we all like a bargain if we can get one, but there are just too many niggles with new digital products, our approach for this type of gear is to purchase a "complete approved system" , that way if anything goes wrong you will have a better chance of recourse - it also fits very nicely to the IDX battery unit should you require a battery system. Yes you will need the HD101E to use this unit - as I understand it - E stands for Europe.
