Difference between the 100 and 100A?

What's the main differences? The 100A wass going to be my first serious camera and I'm wondering whether buying the 100 for slightly less is better for me.

Thanks.

The "100" kicks arse, no doubt. But 100A is a great deal right now (if they decide to send out their rebates). The two cameras should work out to be the same price.

Wheter you buy the 100A or the regular 100, you'll wish you didn't when the HVX comes out :)

Matthew, go with the 100a ... you'll kick yourself if you only got the 100 instead. The 100a has several features then 100 doesnt, including auto focus while in 24P, 24PA (100 doesn't have it), improved gamma cine settings, etc. They improved the camera & released the 100a for a reason ... if you have the ability to get the improved model, why not do it?

I'd also like the HVX200, but it'll cost about 2x as much, and then you have to remember you'll need a more powerful system to edit the HD footage, etc. And if you don't have a need/use for HD at the moment (no clients requesting it, nothing really big to play it on, no HD DVD's available yet, etc.), then the HVX could be a big waste of money at the moment. When you do need it (the HVX), it'll come down in price or have an improved model out as well (HVX200a, etc.).

... and color bars work in 24p and 24pa, the zoom motor is greatly improved.

For my money don't even consider the 100, only get the 100a (although I will be getting the HVX shortly after it comes out).
