Difference - 720/24pn and 1080i/30p

Hi - opinions please.

I shoot everything in 720/24pn with an HVX200. But I'm going to shoot a model railroad with literally thousands of little H2O figurines, buildings etc. I'm thinking with the close-up shots and all the detail I might be better shooting 1080i/30p reasoning I'll get better light and more detail, of course losing P2 card time.
Will this make a difference in quality or should I just keep shooting 720/24pn and get more card time?

Thanks

You will get sharper footage, with better color sampling and less compression, by using 1080/24p or 1080/30p instead of 720pN.

Wow, this shoot's first thing in the morning and I left it a bit late for debate but the the great B_G chimed in so 1080/30p it is. No need for debate. Thanks Barry!

Detail and clarity is paramount here. I prefer 24pa and always used it on my DVX but I've got it in my head that 30p and 60i are cleaner images no? The cam will be mostly locked down so no judder. Also, I'll be incorporating some high rez stills panning and scanning. Does that factor in on the frame rate?
