Did I ruin my DVX? cleaning help pleazzzz

after a shoot in tahiti and a desert shoot yesterday in major dust/wind storm, in trying to capture my footage from the source tapes... the fcp window comes up telling me there is a break in the cadence..ugh sounds scarey! i used the tape head cleaner for the '10 sec' max (a couple of times) to try to clean the innards of my camera.. worked 'a little bit' but i think this will require the pros to clean.. any suggestions for a tech in LA or anyone have a suggestion for home remedy? i doubt my source tape(s) are the problem..

ohhh barry, just saw now your detailed cleaning instructions and i'm too late i used the cleaning tape.. ugh. i think i will bare the hundred for a pro to clean it.

my question is now:: if there is a cadence break, is this most likely due to the dirty heads?
