Did I do this slow motion correct?

Heres an attached clip of video I shot (60i, shutter speed 1/500). I put it in vegas and put it in a 24P timeline and played it back at 40% speed. I know the lighting and everything SUX and I should have used a subject rather than moving the camera, but is this generally the best way to achieve slow motion with this camera? Thanks!

Re: Did I do this slow motion correct?

To my eyes this looks very good. Though i do remember Barry mentioning the shutter relative to the frame rate of 60i is 120 (when played back 50% speed each field is its own frame therefor 60 frames is relative to 120th/sec shutter.) Maybe you can try that see if there is any difference ? Looks good though, keep up the testing!

Trying to help here.

Try testing it with something moving, perhaps a running person or dropping something.

This will help with how it turns out, something moving in slow motion, instead of how a camera zooms in and out. It might be easier to tell if it looks good.

Just a thought.
