I didn't see this new player at NAB. Looks interesting and records to 2.5" drives. 5,000 Euros though.

I love the fact, that you get a full blown workstation with SDI in a rugged, battery powered enclosure - not just a recorder.
I see it as a mobile production system. Come back to the hotel, connect a monitor, mouse and a keyboard and start working without the limitations of a laptop.
Or even do a rough cut on the flight home.

Yes, it is more expensive than the BM-Shuttle, but you save quite some $$ by getting cheap spinning HDs.

If everything works out well, i get a test unit soon and let you guys know how it performs.

Actually it´s not much more than one of the 8 inch Marshall on-camera monitors. A bit deeper though, but nothing to write home about.

I just received a pre production unit and do some tests during the next days.

awesome, what's the weight like so far? and power consumption? this looks like a direct competitor for cinedeck, and the cinedeck is a power hungry mofo. over 65 watts of consumption while recording. eats through hytrons like it's nothing.

If they don't make it 10-bit like the rest of the competition, then I don't see how it can compete.

well it records cineform which is 10-12 bit depending on which flavor u record to. so it's fine there. but after seeing pics and vids, it makes the cinedeck look like a convergent nano! holy bejesus this thing is huge, might as well hang the sony SR recorder at this point...
