did 176Mbps hack also fix few corrupt frames that occurred in previous hacks???

Up until now, I was always using the 65Mbps hack until I installed the 176Mbps hack.

The only very minor issue I had with the 65Mbps hack was the usual few corrupt frames that always occurred in the first second. But it looks like with the 176Mbps hack, every single frame is clean from the very start. Is this in fact the case?

Just wanted to check with others here. If it is the case, this latest hack is beyond awesome. I'm using a 32MB SDHC Sandisk card and so far I've had no issues with the 176Mbps hack, not even a single bad frame at the start. Amazing.

Those dropped frames at the started only happened with earlier versions of ptools. And yes the hack is awesome :)

Fantastic. So even if i were to revert to the 65 Mbps hack, there would be no more corrupt frames at the start? Excellent. But having seen the 176 Mbps hack, for me there's no going back. I'm just floored by how good the footage is at that data rate.

Can't wait for the Panasonic GH3 with AVCHD 2 at 1080p60 (even though I shoot mostly 1080p24) and for Vitaly, Driftwood, and others to hack that.

We're living in amazing times!

Well...if you are happy with that....just know that Vitaliy and CBrandin are working on custom color curves. If....no...excuse me.....WHEN they finally succeed with that then that would just bring this camera up a whole other level.

Wow, so you are saying that we will be able to map the raw sensor data to custom curves? Where's money when I need it? I need 100cc of $20 bills! Stat! :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Ha ha....well...I doubt we would be able to customize it ourselves. But I believe they might be attempting to apply more flat gamma settings etc. for us to eck out more latitude in our shots. I do know that Vitaliy and Chris are having a difficult time with this however. But I'm optomistic.

One of the other features they are looking at is the IDynamic feature. It is a cool feature in the GH-2 that gives us more dynamic range. The problem is we have no control over it. So, right now if you keep it on your image can flicker from brght to dark (sometimes slowly and sometimes quickly).

Read about it here:

It's unbelievable what this camera can do. What is even more unbelievable is the possibilities to get more out of it in the future! I'm thinking of selling my GH1 soon. I think the GH2 prices will drop significantly in 2012, since the GH3 seems to be around the corner.

Ian, you had a 7D, didn't you? Can you create custom curves in the 7D or are they just a limited set which you get to pick from? It would be really sweet if Vitaliy and cbrandin could parameterize this somehow. Regardless, this is all just really awesome. I joined yesterday with PersonalView, by the way. Too many things going on in there to continue ignoring it.
