Diagonal bars across the image- Please help!

Hi,
I've run into a fairly big problem with my DVX100. There are diagonal black bars across the image in the LCD, and I was wondering what might cause this. Normally, even if the tape isn't recording properly, I can't see the bars in the viewfinder as I'm recording, so I have no clue what might be causing this. They occur with all of the Scene Files, and they're present whether 24P mode is on or off. Any help would be great, as I've got a shooter in New York at the moment unable to use her camera.

At the risk of asking what may seem like a really obvious solution, the diagonal bars you're seeing are not the zebra pattern, correct?

How many bars do you see. Do they spread over the whole picture area? Is this a fixed patern? What is the aproximate inclination angle? Are the bars sharply delimitated or fuzzy?

Do these bars occur during playback as well? It's possible that your video heads could need cleaning. I had a problem with the bars during playback (although not during recording), and using the panasonic head cleaner worked for me.

Better pray it's dirty heads.............or call Fox Valley Video Service in Chicago..............Ask for John ............He's a super Knowledgable tech.
