I think I need a line pad attenuator cable for running audio from my Tascam DR100 into my D7000. Is there a cheaper option than the Sescom? Would something like the Koss volume controller work? Thanks
I'm using the audio from the DR-100 but I want to run it into the camera to aid in syncing sound, and yes I am a penny pincher. I'm okay with a knock off, because in my experience cheap cables perform just as well as expensive ones.
Well then buy the connectors, wire, resisters, soldering iron, solder, and do it yourself for about the same money after the time investment.
For what it's worth, I keep a pair of Vari-pads in my kit to match the impedance of any device I might need to interface with.
They are more expensive than the $27 cable in your first link, but they are far more versatile, and will last a lifetime.
The cable is the best cheapest solution I had used. I have that cable with a Tascam DR-05 and once I found the Unity Gain, I have good sound, especially for when I record in night clubs with loud speakers.
