FEATURE: DEUCE OF SPADES - How I made a period full feature film all by myself on ZERO budget

DIRECTOR'S COMMENTARY has been completed and delivered, along with all other Extra Features, to the post house for Authoring...

Now reviewing one final time all 9 subtitles. A VERY time consumming task, since I have to watch them with the film... 18 hours worth of watching and reading, crammed in one single week-end.

Pass me the bottle of Excedrin please :)

NEWSFLASH...

My film and I are featured in the brand new ad campaign SONY has launched to promote the new SONY VEGAS 10 :) - Way f** cool !!

Look for these ads in Filmmaker magazine (and many others) in the next few weeks :)

WOW... Ive been following this over the years. Congratulations - YOU MADE A FEATURE!!!! What an amazing achievement in itself. Good luck with the future of Deuce of Spades.

Congratulations Faith on finishing your epic journey. God knows you deserve it! Looking forward to the DVD and the premiere.

Thank you guys :)...

This has in deed been an incredible journey, one not without challenges, obstacles, sacrifices, and that perhaps makes the victory taste that much sweeter.

Now in the final stages, I received my check disc from authoring and am checking it for navigation, content etc. I must say that popping that DVD in the player and seeing the animated main menu, hearing the scoring, then selecting one of 9 subtitles or director's commentary and hitting the PLAY and sitting back and watching the film, has been an amazing feeling. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! This looks as pro as any of the pro DVDs out there.

SET-UP comes loaded with (as I said) 9 subtitles, option to listen in Dolby Stereo (default) or 5.1 surround sound mix... EXTRAS has a few goodies of it's own, we were able to fit on the dual layer disc 3 rather comprehensive interviews (a total of approximately 30 minutes worth of footage), the director's commentaries (128 min) and a 15 minute reading by lead actor TIMOTHY LUKE.

SCENES is very cool, with lots of chapter points so that my viewers can jump to their favorite hot rod scenes with ease.

All in all, we kicked ass.

Last Thursday I supervised the printing of my DVD wraps, which I had a top printing facility do, so I could insure the best quality possible. The wraps will then be delivered, along with master to the DVD replication plant.

Below: I personally check color and quality on the DVD wrap printing job.

Wow I've just now discovered this thread. What an inspiring endeavor. Looks like I'll have to queue this up on netflix and start filming my own movie too lol.

WOW!! 1000 movie posters go to press today. I went by my printer last night and saw the prototype (proof) in full size (24 X36) and I was soooooo happy!! It looks super classy and very eye candy. I am finally savouring the fruit of 4 years of labor. Posters are the first tangible thing I held in my hands that my film is now... DONE!! DVDs will be next :))

Hey, can anyone in Los Angeles refer me to a good place to have my film cards printed? (double sided, extra glossy), I need about 10,000 and need a great deal... Any help appreciated guys.

Maybe I missed it ... Are you releasing the film both on standard definition and BlueRay DVD? Are you making versions in PAL and SECAM as well?

SD release to begin with, if it does well and there is truly a demand for Blue Ray, then I'll release it on HD.

DVD is progressive 24p all region and will play anywhere in the world, unless you have a DVD player over 7 years old.

DEUCE OF SPADES DOCUMENTARY airs as we speak on National TV in France :) in the "turbo" popular TV program on Channel 6.

All my fans in France are glued to their TV sets!! That includes, of course, my #1 fan, my mom :love4:

I just called her and she was so excited!! She said they saw a sneak preview and saw me putting my aviator cap on and some of the hot rods...

Weeheee, I can't wait to see it online tomorrow. I'll post the link once it is up.

For me the fun will start when your DVD finally ships and I get to watch it for real. I'd imagine it must be getting down to the last few weeks!
