Detailed Tech Specs On Cameras?

I'm trying to get some specific specs on panasonic, canon and sony cameras, mainly dealling with lens dementions and built in sunshade shapes and sizes. Not really any of the standard stuff. Calling direct to those companies has lead me on a wild goose chase. Anyone have thoughts on where to turn.... :) thanks in advance......
 
You could consider ordering replacement sunshades and just extract the dimensions that are of interest to you. I doubt that you would be able to obtain anything close to a mechanical drawing form any of these manufacturers.

Just curious, are you designing a mattebox or equivlent?
 
I've designed a matte box for the DVX and people have been asking for other cameras... I tell them I can make custom modifications, but the measurements they send me seam shady... I'd rather know for sure, or figure out a way to retro fit it for any camera... this is my website for the matte box if you want to see it.

I make them myself, but I'm in the process of getting a patten. I've just been auctioning them on ebay, to pay for supplies and the patten process. Let me know what you think. I'm not really trying to cause a big stir yet.....
 
I tried the ebay link, but it says you currently don't have anything for sale. What do these normally go for? I might be interested if the price is right.
 
Try it again. I have a bid going right now. It goes for about $65-$110 on ebay. You might be in luck I'm trying a three day bid, so that could keep it down.....I can work something out for a fellow DVX USER if it you don't win it....
