Detail Problem

So I was recently editing some 60i & 24p footage (on a 60i timeline) in FCE and When I printed it to dvd I noticed that the 24p footage looks slightly
cloudy. I have tried alot of things to help this but I wanna know what others
have had this problem.

Here's my scene file settings

Detail Level -2

V Detail Level 0

Detail Coring +4

Chroma Level +3

Chroma Phase +2

Color Temp -4

Master Ped. -10

A. Iris Level +3

Gamma Cinelike

Knee N/A

Matrix Cinelike

Skin Tone DTL Off

V Detail Freq. Thin

Progressive 24p

Image Squeeze

I was shooting with my shutter speed set to 1/48 because I don't like alot of strobing in my 24p footage.
I want to get more detail in the image but im not sure what the best way is.
I wanna set my detail level higher but when I do that it comes out way too sharp. What's a good detail number? Should I use a different gamma setting?

Thanks!

Personally I would never pump the chroma level, unless your going for oversaturated and possibly more noise, straight out of the camera. Irrelevant to your question.

How are you exporting from FCE? Does it have compressor included?

Yeah, i'll have to check the chroma level; thanks Im exporting to Quicktime Movie & burning in iDVD. Please tell me if theres a better way! I hate going through the whole process.

By the way everything looks good in FCE but when I burn it to dvd & watch it on my tv the 24p footage looks cloudy.
I think it could be a gamma setting thats causing that (using the cinelike gamma) But im not sure. Any help?

If it looks good in FCE, then it's not any of the camera settings. Must be the export. Have you opened the QT movie you export? Does it look OK? Must be an iDVD issue. What are your export settings out of FCE to the QT movie?

Im fairly new to FCE so I don't have it all figured out yet.
How do you get to the Quicktime Export settings?
