What is everyone using? I was using +2 and -2. I'm using a Letus extreme so I'm trying to get a idea of what I should use.

For FS and up to MCU I use +3 ish... For CU I go -4 or -5 to give a nice look. Same with V Detail. I guess I would go for the same with a DOF adapter.

Hey, I wasn't able to reply to your PM, it said you weren't receiving them anymore.

Anyways, here is my DVX settings:

I'm still looking for some settings for the DVX100a.

Hey there, my DVX100A settings

Detail Level: -4
V Detail Level: -1
Detail Coring: +3
Chroma Level: -2
Chroma Phase: 0
Color Temp: 0
Master Ped: -6
A. Iris Level: -3
Gamma: Cine-Like_V
Knee: High
Matrix: Cine-Like
Skin Tone: Off
V Detail Freq: Thin

Camera Setup
Syncro Scan: 1/48.0
Set Up: 0%

The only thing I'd probably consider changing would be the Master Ped, possibly down to -7, although -6 was fine. There would still be some headroom at the bottom if you need to darken in post, but atleast you are maximizing the complete dynamic range of luminance from darks to brights.

If you DO NOT plan on uprezzing you may want to consider upping the Detail Level to 0 OR apply your sharpening in post. Since I am uprezzing, I didn't want to introduce the camera's sharpening artifacts so much, since the uprez software has its own sharpening function. So, basically I wanted to minimize the sharpening to the end of the production pipeline.

I had read somewhere that -7 means that the camera applies no sharpening, +7 means to apply full sharpening and 0 means apply 50% of the cameras capability of full sharpening.

hope that helps.
