detail level v.s. detail coring

I want to reduce noise while not altering my color/gamma/pedestal settings and am thinking of either reducing the detail level or increasing the coring... which is recommended? Or do the two options do the same thing? I like my detail level as is, but am willing to lower it a notch to reduce noise. Is increasing coring a better alternative?

Coring is specifically for noise control. Experiment with it before changing your detail level. The higher your detail level, the more effect coring will have, the lower the detail level the less effect coring will have.
