FS7: Despite all new camera's would you keep the FS7?

Arguably an Arri Alexa Classic gives you exactly that... for a price (secondhand) that is pretty similar to what a new FS7mk2 costs

I would seriously consider that option if I found one in that range. Of course there are some other considerations (as there would be with any new system): power requirements, media, grip/support needs, etc.

Is very common to see an Arri Alexa for sub $15K and even now we're seeing a few pop up at $11K or $10K

That is more or less close enough to new FS7mk2 pricing

I would never dig into an Alexa but an Amira could prove to be interesting when they become used and affordable. Then again I don't need anything better than the FS7 for the next year or so.

Tha amiras will drop as they are not rated as true 4K cameras. I just recently shot for a Netflix doc they were fine with my FS7 but would not allow a second shooter with an Amira. Off course its a really stupid decision but all the new streamers are adamant about 4K. which is why the varicam LT is doing well and the upcoming EVA1 will sell like hotcakes. Im also shooting a doc for the smithsonian channel and they are 4k 10bit. So you will start seeing amirs popping up the question is do you really want to invest in one? Obviously the most beautiful image but I think that 4K is now a n absolute must.

Why are the Alexa classics so cheap? And what's the big difference between the Alexa and the Amira? I just haven't kept up.
