desperately seeking DV50 reviews

How about it? any comments or reviews of the hvx in dvcpro50 mode? how about dv50 in the workflow. I wish this topic got more playtime time. it's like being marsha on the brady bunch. "HD! HD! HD! it's always about HD!"

I think part of that reason is because you can always downconvert the HD later, but you can't get HD resolution out of your DVCPRO50 image. Even if the end product is going to be DVD, you never know if you'll want an HD version in two or three years.

You've got the technology, might as well use it.

that's true but with all the complaints about hd workflow in the pc environment, one might think the dv50 route is a good place to squat in while pc gets up to speed. should be much less taxing on storage and cpu use than hd as well...
