hello i own a pentium 4 3.2 ghz, 1 gb ram 200 gb space.
I am at the moment using premiere pro 6.5 and am having a problem.
I recently shot three full 80 min dv tapes for an event and captured them using premiere.
i shot in interlaced b-str becuase of lack of light.
now when i try to play these clips using media player or anything it takes about 2 minutes to load and can be extremely laggy.
trying to edit it on premiere is impossible due to it taking 1 minute at least to load each time i move the courser and scrubbing though is impossible.
I have other footage of about 20 mins shot on dvx as well which is perfect and loads on the spot and is easy to edit.
can someone please help.
thanks.

Does this still load on the spot? Still easy to edit? After you captured this new footage. What your describing can occur if your hdd is on the full side... how much disk space do you have left?

yes all of the other dvx footage on my pc works and loads fine still. I just got premiere 2 but the problem is still there. I have two hard drives, one of them has about 30 gb's left and the other one which the laggy footage is on has about 20 gb's left. i will be gone for a week so i won't be able to reply but any help is aprecated, thanks.
