Now the official release is underway I'm allowed to comment.
Panasonic NZ had a pre production NTSC HVX200 here and two highly experienced DOP's gave it a test drive and I was privileged to be allowed to see the results.
We played back out of the camera into a HP 2335 and into a Panasonic BTHL1700 via component. The downloads do not even begin to do this camera justice.
If you're at DV Expo find Rick Haywood from Panasonic NZ and ask to see the demo 1080 24p material. He is supposed to have a P2 card with him containing the material. It will answer all your low-light, street-light questions.
The camera is stunning.
From memory one of the DOP's estimated the camera had an ASA of around 500, and about 10 or 11 stops of latitude.
