HPX250: Demo camera screen issues

Local dealer gave me a demo to try out for a few days and when fired up produced this crazy moire' on both the LCD and VF. Tried white balancing A/B and preset, removing P2 cards, menu reset, auto/manual, power up/down, etc. with no luck. Batter was very low so took it out and tried the ac adapter and same thing, then after a while it also started flashing thin green horizontal lines all over the screen. Recorded a clip and it's there too. My guess is I just got a lemon of a demo. Still love my AF100/GH2. :)

Well obviously something happened to that camera. That's not how they are suppose to look. Maybe he can get you another demo to play with.

Hey, I think it's kind of pretty. Back in the '60s, we used to pay shady characters on street corners real money to have visual experiences like that. That camera might be worth a lot. You might be able to offer a unique little business shooting pictures like that! :)

Ha! Actually was hoping someone may have had a similar experience and knew a trick or procedure for clearing it. Thanks for the obvious and the Jimmy Hendrix experience parallelism :)

You can't apply the same or older firmware version. In any event, I think the sensor or DSP is messed up since the artifacts show up on recorded material and not just the display.
