Hello everyone,

I am very much surprise to have to open that thread because I know in France and other countries of EU, I am not the only one.
We have ordered our FS7 in March and April for some of us. End of June is just a couple of days ahead and no distributor can tell when the cameras will arrive: FS7 and FS7K, all the same.
I also learned today from one famous French distributor (Atreid) that the situation is such that there could be no more FS7 delivered in France until december 2015.
This is A big problem since we have planned quite a lot of 4K productions with this "run and gun" solution.
For now we work with A7S+Shogun rigs but it is a pain for our documentary work with most of the time, one man crew.

Anyone could confort us on what is going on since Sony does not inform the distributors nor gives any information to anyone.

Little poll: how many of you are like us waiting for their FS7?

Thanks in advance.

Jeremy

Sorry I did not understand the way the poll works and do not know how to correct my poll. It is useless. Sorry about that.

Just to give you some sort of indication, I ordered mine from CVP, London - in February
It only arrived 2 weeks ago - and they told me I was quite high up in the list.
When I was sorting out payment they told me that only a handful of units arrive on a weekly basis

Wow thats crazy. I'm glad I got mine early on even if there were some growing pains.

Is the problem supply or demand? I would love to see some worldwide sales numbers. I think the FS7 has been very good for Sony.

I've received mine in May, serial number over 33k. Could this be true? More then 33k cameras produced so far?

Whenever I'm at Abel Cine I see an FS7, sometimes several, being sold.

Errol Morris recently shot a documentary on two F55s, seven FS7s (without extension units), & a bucketload of GoPros.

Seems the FS7 is a success & being accepted on many levels of production.

Since you are in Europe, you might want to check in with my friends at Schweizervideo in Zurich. They are a Sony dealer and Sony is actually next door in the same building so they might be able to better take care of you........http://www.schweizervideo.ch/

Shows what happens when you have an incredibly well-spec'd camera at an incredibly reasonable price - and from a well-established and respected company - it was always going to be a big hit. I thought they'd sorted out the demand after the initial backlog but obviously not.

Sad thing is that Canon could participate in that war if they would release C300 mark II end of 2014 with more reasonable price. I was actually expecting that my next camera will be C300II, but they went crazy with the pricing and low with features (no 4K 60p?? Only 120fps and in crop mode?? Seriously??). Of course they will sell some amount of it, but market will be already saturated with FS7.

The FS7 has been a phenomenal success for Sony. They've sold more than twice as many as anticipated - 33,000 is a lot of cameras!

I got mine at the end of October, SN is 0000075. Can anyone beat that?
