deleting clips on P2 card

I copied over the P2 contents to my HD and put the card back in the camera without reformatting.
I shot three extra clips, but don't want to reimport the whole card with content I already offloaded. I just need to offload the last three clips.
How do I:
A. delete the clips on the P2 card, keeping only the last three clips before offload.
B. keep all the clips as back up on the P2 card but only offload the new clips I haven't already off loaded?

The last time I tried deleting clips off the P2 CARD in camera it only let me delete the first clip. I should be able to go clip by clip and delete the ones I choose right?

Hi Beth,

There are a few ways of doing this. First you can select any clip through the camera management menu and delete individual clips or select multi clips not necessarily continious clips and delete then from the P2 card.

Or if you have P2CMS software and have the ability to mount the P2 card on the computer desktop, you can use P2CMS to copy individual clips to where ever you want, external HDD, Raid etc. When P2CMS loads the contents of the P2 card, at this stage it loads the clips into the Viewer but has not actually copy anything to any other location. You can also use this software to delete clips from the P2 card.

You should be able to delete any clip from the P2 card using the management menu on the camera. The only reason that I can think that might stop you is if you have a spanned clip accross two P2 cards, and you are trying to delete a part clip. Or you have tagged that clip and locked it to stop accidental erasure.

Sounds like deleting the clips in camera is the easier choice.
Do I just download P2CMS software onto my powerbook which is what I use to offload the P2 card? I understand it will make a separate content folder and text doc?
Is the P2CMS open the files in a viewer like fcp log and transfer?
P2CMS doesn't need fcp? Where should I download the software from

I don't know why the management system in camera was only allowing me to delete the first clip but I'll try again today.
Thanks!!

I just went to panasonic site to download the P2cms reader but realize it will only work with mac Intel processors. Does that mean my only option is to delete the unwanted clips in camera?

no. its easy. go into playback mode. then move to the clip you want and press the center button of the directional toggle controls. the clip will now have a light blue line around it. navigate around and repeat this process for all the clips you want to delete. you will notice only the clips you selected will have the blue outline.

then open the menu. pull down to "operation" then over to "delete" it will ask you "delete __ clips?" choose yes and all will be good in the land

Hi Beth,

You are looking for P2CMS version 1.1.9 which will run on your Powerbook G4 PowerPc processor.
