Delays in A7iii delivery

Just wondering how many people are still awaiting delivery of their A7iii? I prepaid for mine after being told by my Canadian retailer Lozeau that: " their is an embargo on selling them in North America until April 10th." Well like an idiot I assumed they meant they had them and couldn't sell them before then. It seems every retailer in my country Canada got a couple and if you were one of the first to prepay you got one. Now there is not ETA on when the next batch will arrive or at least that is what I have been told. All the reviews and such, you would think they would have supply to meet the demand or at least some of it.
My understanding is that people in France and other European countries have had them for more than a month. Not sure i see any logic in this.

I was talking with guys at Sony Center in Poland. Huge delays here too. Sony dropped few units but they were swept away in moment.

At the bottom of the link you posted it says it has been fixed in a firmware update. I also spoke with a major Canadian retailer in Toronto this afternoon Henrys Camera, who told be they have 300 units on back order for clients. They don't expect to get stock to deal with this until June maybe July. I see BH in the USA is backordered as is Vistek in Canada.

They may have held production until they verified the problem was software and not hardware related. Or found something else in the process. This many delays/this long is almost certainly a production issue. Hope you get one soon!

There were many available when it was first released then pretty much back-ordered everywhere.

B&H actually finally had some in stock again today...all gone already though.

Just got mine and I am thrilled with it so far. My local dealer came through finally! However when I picked it up they told me they we severely back ordered and more people were coming in buying. I guess this will be THE standard hybrid camera for this year. I have mine setup with a XLR-K2M and the Sony 28-135mm F4 ciné lens. Will shoot a talking head with it tomorrow but in my first tests yesterday it showed itself to be a very sweet package. Lots of options and typical extensive Sony menu but I really like the way you can setup your own menu and customize the setups for still and movie.

would love to see how that came out brian! I just sold my a6500 today to buy the a7iii. I guess i can wait and see how the tamron 24-70 performs before deciding between that and the 24-105 while i wait for the cameras to start shipping. If anyone finds a store selling them let us know!

The camera is amazing and paired with the Sony ciné lens it is a dream to work with. I can't publish what I shot due to client confidentiality. Mission statement stuff...
Next on my list will be the new Ninja 4k when it arrives in July.
I have it setup with a SmallRig cage which is excellent, however I still have to work on the HDMI connection and protecting it. Seems the screw clip from my old SmallRig 6000 series cage is not the right one for this. Back to the order page.
