Delay on monitor

This has probably been posted but is there any way to fix the delay on the external monitor when playing back from the timeline? In Avid, the monitor plays fine but my external monitor drags behind to audio.
I have my deck connected through firewire to the computer for capturing and an s-video out from my deck to the monitor.

Any software only system will have this delay. You can compensate for it in Avid in the Video Display settings by changing the Desktop Play Delay. Personally I don't like messing with that setting because it throws off my editing flow. It might work great for you. The only other solution is to get a Mojo and then you'll have desktop play and client monitor play in sync.
