Deinterlace 25pn

I was forced to use pana 170 in 720 25 pn mode because of limited storage capacity. The other cams were in 50 i mode. Was filming a dancing performance and the 25pn looks terrible in motion. Using EDIUS I can't find a deinterlacefilter to corrects 25pn blocky motion. Any hint how to proceed?

25pN isn't interlaced, but Progressive (hence, the P), so it was never interlaced to begin with, however, the way 25p handles motion compared to 50i looks completely different, blurring the motion more like a film camera. If the shutter is slow enough, then fast motion such as dancing will become very blurry compared to 50i footage.
 
Or, moving the camera around like you're shooting 50i will produce unwanted strobe, which is probably more the issue here if you're calling it "blocky." Even if you could deinterlace, it wouldn't solve the problem -- it's all about how it was shot.

the problem in Edius is that you can't chance the project settings from P to deinterlaced once You have done the initial choice. I did test the looks in a new project there I choosed 1080 50 i settings and the 25 pn looked better there. In 25 pn the motion looked like there was a chost image or light strobing. But in 50 i project the looks was better and alike to 2 other cameras which were shooting interlaced. I usually use 50 p in sports and fast motion and it is of cource superior in quality.

Found also that you can change P to interlaced in Edius at final stage "print to file" and then "enable conversion" , there you can do nearly all format exchanges.
