Hi Everyone,
I am trying to purchase a camera and I have a silly newbie question. What do you consider "low hours?" I've heard under 100 hours is good. Is this the general concensus? If you had to guess, how many hours do you think a camera could perform before a major repair?
Thanks!
Susannah

Under 100 hours? Hmm I would say a used DVX with 500 hours could still shoot as well as the day it was bought... the issue really is how has the camera been cared for.

I heard that the heads should be cleaned every 100 hours. But like ncje said, it's really how well the camera was cared for that's important. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I beleive the heads can last around a thousand hours if properly maintained?

My camera has about 100 hours. It's shot 1 short, 1 feature and I helped another filmmaker shoot a trailer. Perhaps another 5 hours of random shots. It's still got the new camera smell.
