GH1 decided to buy GH1, how do I tell if it is hackable before I order?

I keep reading that the late model GH1 is not hackable, yet I have not been able to find any info on how to tell if the camera is hackable or not. Is this true? Or are all Gh1 put able to be hacked? Can someone please fill me in or send me a link before I order? thanks

If you order a brand new unit from a store, more likely it is not hackable. Hackable bodies are those manufactured before May 2010.

Now, for the serials themselves, the four first digits are of importance.
Anything with a 9 in it is safe.
For instance "WE9K" shows that it has been produced at the end of 2009.
Beware, the hack will work on these models, but may have the old revision of the GH1 sensor that has been known to have banding issues.
As for the other serials, here's how it works:
"WE0..." a 0 in the serial means it's produced in 2010.
WE0A Produced in January
WE0B Produced in February
WE0C Produced in March
WE0D Produced in April
WE0E Produced in May
WE0F Produced in June
WE0G Produced in July
WE0H Produced in August
The last two, from July and August have the new firmware and cannot be hacked!
June is 50/50 chance to work, or not.
So to be on the safe side, anything from May or before is ok

Unless it's been sent back to Panasonic for any reason, which is unlikely, but just so you know, they'll render it unhackable for you.
